home EXPANSIVE ENTERTAINING The dining room is home to a roughly 140 inch-long, multi-leaf mahogany pedestal table. An antique from a small family business in Pennsylvania, it accommodates eight “cheeky” chairs with a touch of hardware on their backs, as well as host and host- ess chairs upholstered in subtle, tweedy blue fabric. Because the family wanted an enlarged dining area, they had the wall with the windows moved out two feet. The vintage chandelier drips pen capiz shells and is so bright that it’s hard to believe that the fixture is illuminated by a single lightbulb. The unique vase centerpiece adds a dash of color that can be changed at any time. (Above) In the kitchen, the white tiles bear the first letter of the owners’ last name, while gumballs add a rainbow of color against the bright white background. > MILLBURN & SHORT HILLS MAGAZINE SPRING 2018 63
