Because the homeowners frequently entertain, she thought it would be nice if the area around the powder room had a cool affect. “We wanted guests to think‘We’re so glad we got invited to this party!” says Servos. Concrete walls with metallic particles create the impression that rust is creeping up from the floor. Atable with aglass top and a brass base lines the wall. To preserve classic elements of the older home alongside new finishes, Servos installed a unique sink by supplier Stone Forest in Westfield next to old industrial-style plumbing and a ladder of shelving made from dried reclaimed wood. A customized chandelier illuminates the foyer, which has a ceiling roughly 19-feet high. Inside the vestibule,natural stone tiles with inlays in brass and gold hint at an interior design theme. (Opposite, clockwise from top left) Servos carved out a calm corner in the living room, which has a wallpapered ceiling. In another transitional space, a bar room with a cowhide rug, old movie theater chairs, banana leaf wallpaper, ceiling painteddeep green and brass end table leads to the outside. This living room desk with rattan backing has a“colonial feel,”an old-school phone and checks from the 1940s left behind by a previous occupant.
