English singer-song- writer GRAHAM PARKER, best known for leading British band Graham Parker & the Rumour, brings his soul-inflected rock ‘n’ PARKER roll to the SOUTH ORANGE PERFORMING ARTS CENTER. Parker has had a wide following since the ’70s-’80s, which produced “Local Girls,” “Hey Lord, Don’t Ask Me Questions” and “Mercury Poisoning”; his band’s 1979 release of the classic Squeezing Out Sparks cemented their position as one of Britain’s top live acts, and ensured sold-out concerts on their long world tours. After The Rumour disbanded, Parker continued as a solo headliner and short fiction writer; in 2011, filmmaker Judd Apatow reunited him with his former group, and fea- tured them in the plot of his film This is Forty. See and hear what this formidable artist is up to now.
