What began as a way for the
town’s women to have fun and be
active in a competitive sport has
become more than that for the
players.
“It has been a great way for us to
meet new people and make friends,
and it is nice for our kids to see that
too,” says Zamore.
There are players of all ages in the
league, from college-aged girls to
women in their 50s, and in various
stages of life, from mothers of
younger children, to empty nesters.
“Softball is community building
and it can never hurt to have women
encouraging each other,” Talbert says,
“whether in sport or work or
anywhere.” ■
