prom attire. John Wilkins (right) is pictured with his “steady” Ann Settelmeyer who is
described as wearing a “Frank Star original” pink taffeta ball gown from Mabel French in
East Orange. The gown, priced at $89.95 would run about $760 in today’s dollars.
“Charming Virginia Dunkerton” (left) is pictured in a coral and pink chiffon number,
available from Muir’s in East Orange for $35.00 (or about $300 today.)”
