TOP DENTIST CARLOS MOGLIANESI, DMD, FACP IS A FIRM BELIEVER IN PATIENT EDUCATION. “YOU HAVE TO BE
willing to take the time to talk with a patient to help ease any fears and let them understand exactly
what is going to happen,” explains the board-certified prosthodontist, whose gentle demeanor quickly
evokes a sense of trust, confidence, and loyalty on the part of his patients and peers. His expertise can
be gauged not only by his extensive training but also his recognition as a lecturer both domestically and
internationally. His peers also recognize his ability as a top-notch clinician: roughly fifty percent of his
patients come through referrals from other dentists.
Prosthodontics is one of nine specialties recognized by the American Dental Association and addresses
numerous conditions and problems from full mouth reconstructions and implant restorations to
cosmetic dentistry, TMJ-related disorders, congenital disorders, and sleep apnea. Other services include
teeth whitening, immediate dentures, Orthodontics utilizing Invisalign™, and geriatric patients’ needs,
as well as cleft palate and lip procedures. The practice of prosthodontics is unique with only 3,200
prosthodontists in the United States compared to 170,000 general dentists.
Dr. Moglianesi followed his graduation from New Jersey Dental School with a two year mini-residency
specializing in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Orofacial Pain and Temporomandibular Dysfunction.
Afterwards, he was awarded a Certificate of Advanced Prosthodontics from Wadsworth Veterans
Administration Hospital in Los Angeles. He has had academic appointments at the Harvard School of
Dental Medicine and the Lyons VA Hospital.
He is presently a Prosthodontic consultant and maintains academic appointments at both the Rutgers
and UCLA Schools of Dentistry. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and is also
a member of the American Dental Association, the New Jersey Dental Association, and is past president
of the New Jersey Section of the American College of Prosthodontists.

DR. SHARI L. SUMMERS GRADUATED COLLEGE WITH
a business degree, but knew there was a
different calling in her future. Encouraged by
an extraordinary professor at the University
of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine,
Dr. Summers pursued pediatric dentistry and
received her Pediatric Dental specialty
certificate from St. Christopher’s Hospital
for Children in Philadelphia.
COMPASSIONATE AND SUPPORTIVE BY NATURE,
Dr. Sam Romano is quick to acknowledge
that many people experience dental
anxiety. He explains, “Dental phobia is
very common. Whether the trigger is the
fear of shots, hearing the dental drill or a
previous traumatic experience, anxious
patients often avoid seeking treatment
until a complex issue occurs.”
But one thing was for sure, Dr. Summers
would be returning to her hometown of
Livingston to be close to family. Her practice has a strong emphasis on
preventive dentistry and education with patients as young as age one.
Knowing their patients are unable to sit still for a long period of time,
the staff works quickly and thoroughly with a knack to keep the children
happy and entertained.
To treat this underserved segment of the
population, Dr. Romano embarked on an
extensive training program to acquire his
conscious sedation license, making him
one of only 50 statewide dentists to attain
this status. Aside from creating a relaxed
and inviting environment,
Dr. Summers takes her skills abroad recently returning from her second
trip to Jamaica with other dentists from around the country where they
traveled to a different community or school each day working in less
than ideal conditions, even performing dentistry on school desks. Dr.
Shari, as known to her patients, also volunteers time to Kindersmile, an
organization in Montclair that provides free dental care to
underprivileged children in the area.
Dr. Romano utilizes such advanced technology as Air Abrasion (a
drill-less means of removing tooth decay), lasers and the crown replacement CEREC system. In addition, he specializes in dental implants, along
with issues related to sleep apnea and snoring. He also provides Botox
for his patients of record.
Dr. Romano is consistently cited as one of New Jersey’s Top Dentists and
a New Jersey Family magazine “Favorite Kids’ Doc.”
