I have enjoyed getting to know so many of you. Moving forward, township resident Laura Zinn Fromm will replace me at the helm. I know she will bring fresh perspective and a keen eye to these pages. In the meantime, I am excited to introduce our annual Wellness Issue. To begin, we profile three local women – Karina Muro, Amy Ruth Finegold and Janet Schwamm – whose business it is to promote healthy eating. Their tips and recipes can be found on page 60. We’ve also surveyed the local landscape for a selection of great tween and teen fitness options. Never before have so many facilities offered programs to help the whole family get in shape. Check out our overview on page 12. And because living well isn’t all about abstinence, we’ve also profiled local vintner Sean Larkin on page 66. His outstanding Napa Valley wines can be enjoyed at restaurants around town and his story – from sheet metal worker to world class wine maker – is an inspiring one. And be sure to check out the “modern earthy” house on page 56. The Thomases’ innovative use of paper and paint will have you re-thinking what’s possible in your own living space. As always, we look forward to hearing from you with your stories and ideas and encourage you to reach out at [email protected]. Best wishes for a happy summer. ■ JOANNE FISHER We supply the wood for the famous “wood cart” at Schafer Farms located at the corner of Parsonage Hill Road and Passaic Avenue 8 As St. Barnabas serves the community and your household, we service their trees MILLBURN • SHORT HILLS MAGAZINE MAY 2016
