HOLIDAY 2019 MILLBURN & SHORT HILLS MAGAZINE
he holiday season is about to
be upon us again, and Millburn
& Short Hills Magazine is here
to help you prepare for it. If
you’re hosting a holiday meal
or two – and who among us
isn’t – you’ll want to read “Sharing Culture
through Cuisine,” in which three area cooking
instructors describe how they
share their heritage through the
recipes of their homelands. And
you can get design ideas from
“A Seat at the Table,” which
presents an estate featured in
last year’s house tour fundraiser
on behalf of the Reeves-Reed
Arboretum.
But entertaining is only one
aspect of the holidays, and it
shouldn’t be a source of stress. To keep your
equilibrium during these busy times, read
“Breathing Easier,” in which the owners of
Qwell Meditation & Wellness – therapists
Shannon Albarelli and Marcie Handler, and Bar
Method co-owner Kelly Lezynski – discuss the
importance of mindfulness and meditation to
mental health.
One suggestion for maintaining a positive
outlook is to have an “attitude of gratitude.”
Terry Dragoumis Nicholson, a former resident
of Short Hills who currently lives in Madison,
pivoted from a career in publishing and fashion
to working in the nonprofit sector as executive
director of the Cure Breast Cancer Foundation.
“I learned from leaders who were always giving
back,” she says; now she’s committed to doing
the same.
From all of us at Millburn & Short Hills
Magazine, please have a happy and healthy
season. ■
