WELCOME TO MILLBURN,
BLUEMERCURY
There’s no need to leave town to find a BLUEMERCURY shop, now
that one opened in downtown Millburn last month. The 1,900-square-
foot retail space offers more than 90 brands of cosmetics and other
beauty products, including La Mer, Chanel and Bluemercury’s own two
brands, M-61 Powerful Skincare and Lune + Aster Cosmetics. The compa-
ny has come a long way since CEO and co-founder Marla Malcolm Beck
came up with the concept of housing department store cosmetics
counters together under one, free-standing roof. When she sold her
brainchild to Macy’s two years ago, the chain netted $210 million.

UNTUCKIT AT SHORT HILLS
In opening a new UNTUCKIT STORE in the Short Hills Mall, founder
Chris Riccobono is extending the brand in the state where he was raised,
and continues to be a resident. Riccobono grew up in Franklin Lakes, and
currently lives in Madison. UNTUCKit shirts, which are designed to look
flattering when worn outside waistbands, are described as “smart,
casual and…comfortable.” Short Hills Mall, lower level near Macy’s,

A new eatery opened by Andrew Morgan, owner of the Millburn Deli, is
called NEXT DOOR — for the very good reason that it is located at
328.5 Millburn Ave., and Millburn Deli’s address is 328 Millburn Ave. The
sign above the entry to Next Door promises “Food Your Mom would
Make,” but, “The actual full logo says, ‘What your mom would cook if
she knew how to cook,’” says Morgan. This distinction is evident in fine
casual items such as the Next Door Burger, which includes melted truffle
cheese, caramelized onions and arugula on a brioche bun. The menu is
heavy on breakfast dishes such as walnut raisin French toast, a variety of
Belgian waffles and melt sandwiches. (973) 379-5801

HONORS FOR DOWNTOWN

HOLIDAY 2017 MILLBURN & SHORT HILLS MAGAZINE
Congratulations to downtown Millburn for being honored not once, not twice, but three times for its
recent downtown renovation project. The American Planning Association of New Jersey designated the
town a 2017 Great Streets winner. Downtown New Jersey also designated the Millburn Complete Streets
Initiative a Gold Built Project. And a few weeks ago, at the annual New Jersey Complete Streets Summit,
the Voorhees Transportation Center at Rutgers University and the Office of Bicycle and Pedestrian
Programs at the New Jersey Department of Transportation presented a Complete Streets Excellence
Award to Mayor Cheryl Burstein and gathered local officials. Millburn Township was selected due to the
large-scale changes it has made to the town in line with Complete Streets policy, including parklets,
streetscaping and widened sidewalks.
