is so close,
you can
almost smell
the turkey
browning in the oven.
Or maybe it’s just us.
At Millburn & Short
Hills Magazine, we’ve been
focusing on food, glorious food,
as our holiday issue theme.
While in past issues, we’ve
showcased many of the area’s
great eateries, in “Tastemakers,”
we focus on three chef-owners —
Humberto Campos of Restaurant
Lorena’s in Maplewood, Ehren
Ryan of Common Lot in Millburn
and Yanick Ranieri of Papillon 25
in South Orange — who stand out
from the crowd. Learn why they
love what they do, what’s unique
about their food, and the advice
they have for family chefs during
the holidays.
We also interview South Orange
native Kwame Williams, whose
Vital restaurant in Montclair
serves cuisine that is as flavorful
as it is healthy. Closer to home,
“A Modern Spin on Classics”
highlights the Mediterranean
menu at Millburn’s EVOO &
Lemon restaurant.
We’ve tucked other treats into
this issue as well. In “’Memories
that Sparkle and Delight” a Short
Hills family shows how tender and
fun-filled moments are preserved
in their holiday décor. And “Caring
through Comics” tells the story of
Short Hills teenager Julie
Averbach, who conceived, planned
and produced a comic book for
siblings of kids with disabilities.
Her efforts remind us that the
most valuable gift we can give
each other is our time. Thanks for
giving us yours.
