MAKING AN ENTRANCE
Usually when you put garlands on the staircase, it’ s hard tohold onto the bannister becauseyou’ ve got garlands there. Pamela solved the problem creatively using a rectangular piece of foam taped to the bottom of the stair railings; she gathered greenery from her garden and stuck the branches into the foam bases. Gold ribbon creatively disguises the foam and everyone can still use the hand railing. Pamela taped a plastic plate with a foam block attached to it at the bottomof the staircase using good gardening tape. She then loaded up the plate with greens from the garden.“ Wealmost made abird’ s nest at the bottom of the staircase. Inside there’ s a couple of birds.” If you’ re having alarge party, Pamela suggests adding ashowy flower like an amaryllis on top; it won’ tlast but it will look fabulous in the shortterm. ■
