GET COOKING!
Draw inspiration from these stylish kitchens
WRITTEN BY CINDY SCHWEICH HANDLER
M
ost of us live in
our kitchens —
that is, we enter-
tain, hang out,
study, eat and (oh
yes) cook in them
and we want them to reflect our
tastes. These three area kitchens
are all beautiful in ways that are
as different as their inhabitants.
PERIOD PIECE
This South Orange kitchen is located in a historic preservation area, and, coincidentally or not,
the décor is consistent with a desire to preserve an aesthetic associated with a particular point in
time. The period style complements the property’s architecture and is called Old English Kitchen
by its designers at Küche+Cucina. Their handcrafted cabinetry is painted; and has a glaze finish.
The Cashmere Go ld granite countertop’s warm tone lends old-fashioned charm, while the Fisher
& Paykel dishwasher, ample Wolf range and microwave, Sub-Zero refrigerator and Rohl sink
and faucet provide up-to-date convenience and efficiency. The Miele coffee machine and
warming drawer are the proverbial icing on the cake.
