home FORWARD SPIN Visible from the living room, the kitchen was already completed when Yoshida-Katz entered the pic- ture. She created a contemporary seating area with an Italian-made marble table and Lazy Susan that encourages, sharing and informality. The pendant fixture above the table adds light and beauty; the window treatments add soft shading between the interior, and the swimming pool beyond the doors. MASTER SUITE RETREAT The airy master bedroom features a fireplace, TV, the client’s artwork from South Africa, and box-shaped custom benches Yoshida-Katz designed as both practical and decorative elements. The wall behind the headboard is covered in a woven fabric from Hong Kong that contains metallic yarn, adding to the contempo- rary feel of the room. The area rug under the bed consists of a silky, super-soft material from India that makes stepping out of bed a pleasure. ■ 52 FALL 2017 MILLBURN & SHORT HILLS MAGAZINE
