SOUTH ORANGE AND MAPLEWOODWOMEN HONORED
The National Council of Jewish Women’ s Essex County Installation recently awarded three local women for their leadership, serviceand contributions to the Jewish community. The event was held at the Crestmont Country Club in West Orange. JENNIE GOLDSMITH ROTHMAN of Maplewood( left) was presented with the Henrietta Weiser Emerging Leader Award for her leadership potential within NCJW. Rothman is known for co-chairingNCJW’ s Mitzvah-in-a-MinuteBaby Bundles projectand VolunTweens. SUSAN MILLER( center), also a resident of South Orange, won the Serviceto Section Awardfor her 15-year dedication as a volunteer within NCJW’ s numerous charity efforts. TEDDI DOLPH of South Orange( right) received the Hannah G. Solomon Award for her leadership and commitment to advocacy and the arts.

Built and managed by the LaVecchia family, who also oversee the swanky Above Restaurant and Bar in South Orange, Par 440 is a spacious eatery with plush booths, a long marble bar, disco balls on the ceiling and portraits of Marilyn Monroe and other 1950s entertainment industry players as decor. The restaurant offers casual American fareand sushi, as well as outdoor dining on their patio, which overlooks the golf course. Par440 is open daily at 11:30 a. m. for brunch, light bites and drinks.
