LIGHTENING UP
(Top left) The glamorous detail in the main floor master
bath, says Rosard, is the makeup table. “Behind the chair
are windows, so we hung this mirror that has asteel frame
around it and is supported by steel rods attached to the
sofit and panel below,” he says, giving the mirror a“floating”
impression. In this photo, a shade is drawn, but natural
lightbehind it makes it easier to put on makeup. The counter
top is Caesarstone, and the cabinetry is walnut. (Far left)
The vestibule leads from the bedroom to the shower area.
(Left) Designer Satomi Yoshida-Katz of YZDA selected the
brightly colored furnishings in this room.
(Above) The homeowners like to cook, so the new
deck accommodates an outdoor kitchen that is easily
accessible from the indoor one.(Right) The property slopes
out, allowing for a middle level dining area and lower patio.
The back of the outdoor kitchen’s orange look comes from
its Corten steel, which, when it is fully rusted, provides a
protectivecoating. ■
