Mill Creek Country Club Member Newsletter February/March 2014 | Page 2
MESSAGE FROM THE GENERAL MANAGER
I hope everyone had a joyful holiday season. The Club was very busy in December with several Christmas
parties. The night of fine dining on New Year’s Eve was a success with about 90 people joining us for the
wonderful menu that Chef Joe and his staff put together.

Club Staff
We have added a couple of new staff members to team at Mill Creek Country Club. I want to congratulate
Jennifer Meyers on her promotion to Front of House Restaurant Manager. Jennifer has been a server here
since September 2013 and has a long history of working and managing in the Las Vegas area. Please
join me in welcoming our new Office Manager, Susan Davis. Susan has tremendous experience as a
bookkeeper and office manager and is going to be a great addition to our team.
January and February are generally slow months for the Club as many of the members head south for a
few months to enjoy some warmer weather. Those of you who are still around the colder parts for the
winter don’t forget about our Happy Hour, which is from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm Wednesday through Friday,
with $1 off draft beer, well drinks and house wine. During Happy Hour your also get $2 off our appetizer
menu. Wednesday nights we offer 1/2 off a bottle of wine with the order of an entrée.
Don’t forget about Valentine’s Day this year. Valentine’s Day we will be having another night of fine dining
with a limited menu. Make your reservations early!
I would also like to personally thank all of the members who contributed to the employee Christmas fund
this year. The staff here at Mill Creek Country Club appreciates the recognition of all their hard work
through the year.

Now that we are through with the Holidays and we
know the Seahawks are going to the Super Bowl
we can start making plans for the upcoming golf
season. Sequoia is in the midst of making changes
in our accounting department and membership. All
central accounting has now been transferred to the
Atlanta office and we have made some changes
in that department. We knew this was going to
happen when we hired them it just takes time
through the transition. We expect more changes
to occur. Sequoia will start marketing Equity
memberships at $3,000 this spring.
Members and requesting them to lower their
guarantee from $25,000 to $15,000. We did
approach the top ten on the sale list about this
idea and it was not well received. After further
discussions they said they would agree to change
the 2 to 1 sale rule in their contract. They would
allow us to sell as many memberships it would
take to pay them off. We have since followed up
with documentation to that effect and they have
returned the signed agreement. The Board will
follow through with the remaining Charter Equity
members this month.
The results are in from the member surveys and
they show the biggest concern on the golf course
is the condition of the cart paths. In regard to the
restaurant the members want more selections on
the menu and lower prices and more frequent
changes in the menu. In addition they would like
to see the restaurant stay open longer on the
weekend. Cory is going to be working will Chef Joe
to expand the menu and add lower priced items on
the menu.
The update on the Charter Equity Plus members,
so far we have 10 members who have signed
extensions. We are now offering new $100,000
Equity Plus memberships. We are looking to sell
seven or more new Equity Plus memberships.
As you all know we’ve been talking over the last
several months about approaching the Equity
We are in current discussions with the Tennis
Club about exercising their option to buy and also
extending their lease.
I hope this brings you up to date on what the Board
has been working on the last few months.
