DESK OF THE G.M.D From The Desk of The Group Managing Director 6 This period has been remarkable in terms of achievements and new set of challenges bordering on Federal Government legislation. The newly gazetted flare gas legislation with increased penalties for defaulters in gas flaring and inaccurate gas meter- ing presents serious challenges and opportunities for us to invest in total gas utilization solutions apart from our previous efforts in Micro-gas turbines and Gas generators. Several of the achievements include the completion and commissioning of the new tank farm project, which has started contributing to reduction in production deferments; Federal Ministry of Environment letter of commendation for our conformance to Environmental Compliance Is- sues and ensuring environmental best practice in line with regulatory requirements. We equally increased our emphasis on corporate risk management and my expectation is that we should imbibe this as a culture across the organization in our departments and units. We devoted significant efforts as well into dealing with some op- erational challenges geared towards making our facility/plant safer. Our CSR projects in the areas of school projects, drainage/road con- struction and scholarships received some fresh boost through improved funding. As we go into the second half of the year, I urge us to re-double our ef- forts and ensure we end this year on a high note on every front. Thank you. Engr. Charles Odita FNSCHE, FNSE GMD-Group Managing Director
