The Third Era
Talos is what my village believes in. Talos is a great man my father told me. If only my dad could meet him. My dad had always followed Talos’s steps in the way of the voice. My dad could never do it, but I could. I just didn’t know it yet. This is my story, my name is Slayer. It’s a really creepy name my parents gave me. I asked them many times why they named me that and they told me that my great, great, great grandpa met Talos and told him to name me Slayer. I guess Talos wanted me to be feared by people, but everyone in the village likes me. My first step into this story is when a dragon was sighted near our village, Riverwood.
I was 16 when this happened and I just learned how to use my bow. It was a long bow which was really hard to shoot but I got the hang of it. I never really have seen a dragon in Skyrim before because they were banished by Talos. The Guards of my village started to come out and shoot at it but they couldn’t. It was like as if the dragon had armor. I took out my bow and shot it on the wing. It didn’t do anything except wail in pain. Next it started shouting or yelling out words like if it was talking. It said my name and I was startled. He said he needed to kill me, but I took out my bow and kept on shooting at it with all my force and then it started to fly away and came back falling and crashing. It started to burn and then turned into bones, but before that I sucked in some sort of power and I felt more powerful I didn’t know what was happening but I thought I was dying then I woke up in Whiterun.
I was in Dragons Reach by the time I was awakened by the Jarl was surprised when I woke up because I had the scar that every great Dragon born had. Dragon born is what the Jarl called me.He said that dragonborns can wield the power of the voice which is what my dad wants to wield.
what my dad wants to wield. Dragon born is a gift from the eight divines. The one who gave it was Akatosh. Since there was a great defeat of all Nords and Imperials, Akatosh gave the gift Dragon born which is when you have dragon blood instead of regular blood and can speak in the way dragons can. You can learn it yourself, but that would take a lifetime to do it.
Jarl Balgruuf said that if I was truly dragonborn then I need to find the dragon stone in Bleakfalls barrow explaining when the next dragon born will be born. I need weapons, armor, and the guts to do all this because the living dead live there, called dragurs. If I can kill at least one without getting hit, I can make it.
“Come here son”, said Jarl Balgruuf.
