When the teacher told us that Arleen was the last chair she almost cried because she always wanted to brag on how I always try to be better than her when she says “I don’t even practice and I’m still better than him.” . She doesn’t even practice and still makes it to first chair, but that backfired on her when I made a 100 on the test and I, finally able to rub it in her face, decided to show her how a real first chair is supposed to act.
The other day we had practice, Arleen didn’t even want to play the song and so probably she won’t be able to play the song in the parade. She says she doesn’t care, but she will once the Christmas Parade is performing. One of the eight graders says that she will look like an idiot during the parade but she says we’re all idiots because she says the song is stupid.
The song is actually really cool if you listen to it carefully, but if Arleen tries to play it, it will sound really bad and will probably make the whole drum line sound so bad. The teacher told the eighth graders are the only ones going to play it, but she just lied about that so Arleen doesn’t play. I am happy because that song will make me look like a professional snare in the whole drum line.
At least I’m first chair and won’t have to worry about having to teach Arleen the song because she will probably be sent to a day band next quarter.
