KERRy DAMSKEy, Master Winemaker, Sula Vineyards; and Winemaker, 3 Corners MIChAEL DE LOACh, President, hook & Ladder Winery Sula produces Dindori Reserve Shiraz, Zinfandel, Cabernet Shiraz and Merlot-Malbec, India’s first Sauvignon Blanc & Chenin Blanc, Dindori Reserve Viognier, Riesling, Rosé, Sparkling Brut and Seco, and dessert wine. 3 Corners’ vineyards grow in sub-tropical terrain, 2000m above sea level producing Cabernet Sauvignon, Chenin Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc. Their 375 acres include a regenerating oak woodland and produce cool climate grapes resulting in Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, Merlot, Cabernet and proprietary blends. TASTInG nOTES Sula Vineyards, nashik, India | sulawines.com 2013 Dindori Reserve Shiraz fragant, elegant and smooth, with lush berry flavours and silky tannins. A full - bodied wine with flavours that exicte your palate. Allow to breathe before serving. Goes beautifully with grilled meat, preferably lamb, also delicious with hard cheeses. 2013 Sula Shiraz. Rasa Shiraz is the finest red wine ever to be produced from the estate vineyards of Sula. It is a complex wine, with power and finesse. Rasa will only be produced in the best vintage years. 2014 Sula Chenin blanc is a semi-dry, refreshingly light wine bursting with tropical fruits like pineapple, pear and green apple. Makes for a delightful aperitif and Ideal with food that has a hint of sugar and spice such as Southeast Asian or Gujarati dishes. 2014 Sula Sauvignon blanc is herbaceous, crisp and dry, with aromas of bell peppers, freshly cut green grass and refreshing acidity on the palate. Goes well with fried food as well as rich, creamy dishes. Black cherry, warm vanilla bean, and cocoa powder round out the mouth. The finish is lush, supple, and notably long and expansive backed by tannins and rich pipe tobacco. 2014 3 Corners negev Desert, Israel, Chenin blanc. Like being transported to a spring meadow, this lovely wine displays enticing aromas of citrus, lemon verbena, jasmine, chamomile and wild lemon thyme. Excellent natural acidity and a bone-dry palate add nerve and focus, underscoring the citrus and wildflower flavors. Maroon fire brick color with lovely raspberry, black berry, maple syrup and chocolate spice mouth with a long raspberry cherry spice finish. 2011 hook & Ladder “The Tillerman” Cabernet blend violet-crimson in color, possessing complex aromas of raspberry and black currant with notes of light cinnamon. On the palate full flavors of cherry and mixed-berry followed by a long, spicy-oak finish 2012 hook & Ladder “Station Ten” Zinfandel blend is dark crimson and violet colored and displays spicy aromas of raspberries, black cherries and strawberries with hints of cloves and cocoa. Flavors of blackberry, cherry, and plum complement the long cinnamon cherry finish, framed with light vanilla notes. 2012 hook & Ladder “Third Alarm” Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon’s rich flavors of cassis and mocha follow aromas of cigar box, mint and anise. 2013 hook & Ladder “Third Alarm” Reserve Chardonnay is straw colored and leads off with a refreshing citrus bouquet followed a buttery vanilla flavor. A slight minerality complements the crisp green apple finish. 2012 hook & Ladder Chardonnay is straw colored and leads off with a rich bouquet of lemon, honey suckle and notes of orange blossom, which is closely followed by strong crisp apple, melon and citrus flavors. Hints of orange and lime compliment the light oak and butter finish. 2012 hook & Ladder Estate Sangiovese displays a medium firebrick color followed by aromas of strawberry, cherry, plum and cinnamon spice. On the palate the wine is full with black and red berries accented by a long finish of lingering black cherry and light oak. 2012 hook & Ladder Russian River Valley Merlot is a huge wine with generous flavors of ripe black stone fruits and blueberry, with subtle hints of eucalyptus and cinnamon. 2013 3 Corners Cabernet has a medium brick red colour with a minty spice and dark chocolate with subtle plums.
