The Town of Newburgh Memorial Day Parade takes place this Sunday . This year , Vietnam-Era veteran Marvin Duane Mickle will serve as grand marshal of the parade .

“ I am honored ,” said Mickle , first vice commander of the American Legion Post 1420 in Newburgh .
The parade begins at 1 p . m . at the American Legion on Union Avenue . A memorial service will be held at Newburgh Town Hall at 10 a . m . Orange County Sheriff Carl DuBois will be guest speaker at the service .

Mickle retired from the state Bridge Authority in 2002 .
