City of Newburgh FD responded to a brush fire on top of Ellis Avenue on March 25 around
6 p.m. A power line came down from a pole, causing the fire. The City of Newburgh Fire
Department was assisted by other area fire companies along with their brush trucks.
Central Hudson crewmen repaired the downed wire.
Orange County District Attorney
David M. Hoovler announced that on
Thursday, March 24, Miguel Vasquez,
46, of the City of Newburgh, was sentenced to a total of fifteen years in state
prison for promoting and possessing
child pornography videos. On Jan. 14,
he was found guilty of sixteen counts of
Promoting a Sexual Performance by a
Child, and fifteen counts of Possessing a
Sexual Performance by a Child, following a bench trial before Orange Cou
