City seeks input on how to spend grant money

City of Newburgh residents: it is time for your voices
to be heard.
The City annually gets money from the Department

housing and community development based off of
the census. Every five years, the City of Newburgh’s
Department of Planning and Development creates a new
plan regarding what to do with these funds, and they then
present the plan, along with the proposed budget, to the
public.

it is important that the conversations
surrounding sustainability occur locally,
and the Newburgh City Council has
begun to take these first steps.
The Newburgh City Council listened to a
presentation by Dr. Pavlina R. Tcherneva,
the Chair of the Department of Economics
at Bard College and a researcher for the
Levy Economics Institute, at its work
session last Thursday.
