3 Mid Hudson Times, Wednesday, July 13, 2016 New Windsor resident celebrates her 100th birthday By EMMA FRIEDRICH On July 10, New Windsor Senior Resident Dorothy Lixfield turned 100 years young. The New Windsor Country Inn Staff put on a party for Dorothy and her family. There was live music by the Silvertones, a husband and wife duo. The staff set up flowers, balloons and of course a large cake for all the seniors to enjoy. Dorothy was presented a certificate in recognition of her 100th birthday from the New Windsor Town Supervisor, George Green, who was unable to personally attend the festivities. “Laughter is the best medicine,” said Dorothy. There was a lot of laughter, and happy tears, as Xena, the activities director, presented Dorothy with a paper lantern. The lantern had memories, symbols and statements of love written on it for all to read. One particular phrase said, “Age doesn’t matter, unless you’re a cheese.” When asked if she was a cheese Dorothy replied with laughter and said, “Yes I am.” When asked if there was anything she Dorothy Lixfield (far right) celebrated her 100th birthday with family and friends Sunday at the New Windsor Country Inn. wanted to say Dorothy nodded. “I am grateful for my good health, and I am thankful for my family,” she smiled. “It TOWN OF NEWBURGH ANNUAL WATER QUALITY REPORT Is now available at the Town’s Website: www.townofnewburgh.org Copies of the Report are available at either: Co Town of Newburgh Town Hall, 11496 Route 300, Newburgh, NY 12550, or T Town of Newburgh Water Department, 311 Route 32, Newburgh, NY 12550 For questions, contact John Egitto, Chief Operator, at 845-564-2180 GIL PIAQUADIO, TOWN SUPERVISOR ELIZABETH GREENE, COUNCILWOMAN PAUL I.
