Police target illegal massage parlors
On Wednesday January 27, the Town of
Newburgh Police Department along with
Town of Newburgh Code Compliance,
The Orange County Drug Task Force,
Department of Homeland Security, and
the FBI led Hudson Valley Safe Streets
Task Force made several arrests after a
month-long investigation into massage
parlors operating illegally in the Town of
Newburgh.
The investigation, which is ongoing,
resulted in eight total arrests from six
different locations within the Town of
Newburgh. Five storefront locations had
women working in the establishments
without the proper licensing and in two
of those locations women offered sex
acts to undercover officers in exchange
for money. Town of Newburgh Code
Compliance found multiple safety and
Town Code violations in four of the buildings which led them to close the occupancies for those businesses.
