STAFF SPOTLIGHT
Diane Beckrich Steve Solmonson
Diane and her husband, Jerry, live on a beef and sheep farm
in Cologne. Along with raising animals, they also crop farm corn,
soybeans and alfalfa. She enjoys the spring when they are busy
lambing with all the little babies around just in time for Easter.
She also has laying hens, their three dogs, and a few cats on the
farm which she loves. All three of her sons, Jake, Phil, Thomas and
six year old grandson, Lane, help out on the farm with chores and
fi eld work as needed. They all have other jobs but love the farm
life and are a great help! Mid-County Coop fuel delivery driver, Steve Solmonson,
began his journey with the company on December 15,
2008.
His job duties include delivering fuel and getting to know
his customers in order to better meet their needs.
Before beginning his career with Mid-County, Solmonson
was involved in the propane business.
He and his wife live on Phelps Island, located in Mound.
They have eight grandchildren.
During his downtime, Solmonson likes to fi sh and hunt
with his son and enjoys his annual trip to the shore of Lake
Superior.
A little known fact about Steve: he is a long-time member
of the Daisy Dillman Band.
At Mid-County, Diane works with the LP and bulk fuel calls
and invoices, enters data for the two Holiday stores and the shop,
works with payroll and employee benefi ts, among many other
duties. She enjoys her daily interaction with the customers.
When she is not at work and doing chores, Diane loves
gardening, sewing, and spending time with her family and
friends. She is blessed to have two wonderful daughter-in-laws,
Cassie and Abi.
Steve Salz
As part of Mid -County Coop’s agronomy team, Steve Salz of
rural Mayer enjoys being involved in sales, soil sampling, custom
application, delivery, and more.
Chris Goetze
Chris Goetze is the Yard-Man on the Agronomy Staff
at Mid-County. Chris has been meeting with customers,
prepping equipment, chemicals, and fertilizer in the yard
since April 2018.
Salz grew up on a farm near Fairmont, and was a business
owner for about 20 years. Wanting to get back into agronomy,
he began working at Mid- County part time in 2012, before
becoming a full time staff member. Chris grew up on a crop farm southeast of Cologne in East
Union. As a kid, his favorite jobs on the farm were cutting and
baling hay and harvesting in the fall. Chris has continued
to stay involved with farming by working at equipment
dealerships and large crop farms.
Salz and his wife, Cheryl, have two children. Their daughter,
Lesley, a graduate of the University of St. Thomas, is married
and works as marketing director for Evereve. Their son, Joe, also
graduated from St. Thomas, and is now an actuary at Deloitte. Chris and his wife have lived in Norwood for almost 30
years where they have raised two children. Chris enjoys
fi shing year round. He usually baits for panfi sh, “Sunfi sh and
crappies are my favorites, but I like walleye too.”
