One great way to save money on fuel
Many people ask,“ How can I save money when buying fuel?” Of course, there may be many different ways, such as contracting, buying when the time is right, and having more storage on site, just to name a few examples. For now, I want to focus on more storage.
Our customers have been adding storage, not only by replacing existing tanks with larger ones, but also by adding an additional tank to their site. In some cases, the total tank capacity qualifies for a direct shipment right from the refinery or terminal, allowing for a larger volume discount.
Now, you may ask,“ What do you mean by direct ship?” This means that when you call for a fill of product, our transport truck would go to the refinery or terminal, pull the product that is needed for that load, and deliver the product right to your location. Pricing on these loads is subject to daily pricing, product availability, and a day or two notice when ordering.

Now that this heating season is almost over, most people are looking forward to the absence of the propane and heating oil bills. It has been an expensive season, with cold weather and market conditions. We have seen propane prices rise by more than 50 cents per gallon, and heating oil up about 70 cents per gallon. The consensus is that prices are not likely to moderate, but rather to rise.
asset to Mid-County. You can see this truck by going to our website or looking at the picture below.
We also receive many questions on regulations concerning tank capacity, diking, spill containment, fire marshall guidelines, and a variety of other questions. Each situation is different, and we have the expertise to guide you through this process.
If you have any interest in upgrading your tank size, or just adding another tank, please give Raf or me a call.
Have a safe spring.
Given the“ sticker shock” that many customers have felt as the fuel prices have steadily risen, Mid-County Coop will be introducing a revised budget plan to help ease the payment process for the next heating season. Watch for details and enrollment forms in the mail by the end of April 2008.
