Fall 2006
It’s quality that gives you staying power!
Being a car guy, I like to see
how long a car can run before it
is worn out.
I can recall two of our per-
sonal vehicles that have started
as my wife’s car, and ended
up with my kids driving them.
One car had clocked 200,000
miles, and the other had 250,000
before the other parts of the car
wore out, while the motor is still
running like a top.
Of course, I would like to
take credit for their ability to
last so long, but the common
theme for all my vehicles is
they have all been serviced by
Mid-County Coop with quality
products, (gas, oils and service)
since they were new.
Mid-County has that same
kind of staying power as a com-
pany. You can’t just say you
have quality; you have to invest
in quality.
First, you have to have qual-
ity people. We need the type of
employee that can look through
the eyes of a customer. Second,
you have to have quality prod-
ucts.

At our Auto, Truck and Tire
Center, we use quality NAPA
parts and quality Goodyear tires
and quality trained technicians.
When it comes to petroleum,
we practice what we preach. Our
field equipment runs on Cenex
Fieldmaster with soy, and our
road trucks run on Cenex Road-
master with soy!
With the many changes in
ultra low sulfur diesel fuel this
past year, we could have bought
fuels that were less per gallon
than our Cenex diesel fuels. But
when it came decision time for
our customers, they chose the
quality product.
We have also hired a Certi-
fied Energy Specialist, Rafael
Lozada to assist our energy and
lubricant customers.
Agronomy is no different; we
recently hired Doug Kraska as
our Agronomy Production Spe-
cialist, who comes close to 28+
years of experience, to comple-
ment Kent and Joe’s 30+ years
of experience. Doug will also be
assisting customers in identify-
ing top quality Seed Genetics,
plant food programs, and weed
control programs.
We recently purchased the
Cologne Car Wash to comple-
ment our Convenience Store.
With the property being right
next door, we feel this will be a
great addition. We want to be a
leader in the convenience store
business by offering E85 gas,
Soy Diesel, a full deli, and now,
a car wash.
As always, we are working
to make your Co-op better with
Honesty, Integrity and Value.
