Leadership Conference Guests Introductions Master of Ceremonies Jim Williams Jim Williams was active as a Jaycee from 1988 to 2000, serving the states of South Carolina, Tennessee, and Colorado in various capacities. His broadcasting career has allowed him the unique opportunity to get to know the many parts of the nation, and his JCI involvement has helped him quickly make friends wherever he’s gone. Jim has taken part in hundreds of projects and conferences, written and judged more CPG’s than he could possibly count, and recruited and trained Jaycees around the country. Jim remains active today, and he says he stays young, by working to assist Jaycees however he can. In addition to being our permanent Emcee for the past 6 years, he has done the same on occasion in Kentucky and Illinois, and has emceed the US Junior Chamber Annual’s meeting six times. He’s lived in Louisville for 6 years, anchoring and reporting the news daily on the NewsRadio 84WHAS, the Kentucky News Network, and the Tennessee Radio Network. Jim is also Chief of the State Capitol Bureau in Frankfort, for KNN and WHAS. Jim is JCI Senator #62037, a Colorado Governor, a Tennessee Life Member, and he was the 63rd President of the Colorado Jaycees. Guest Speaker Bill Schuette, Michigan Attorney General Bill was elected as Michigan's 53rd Attorney General in November 2010 and took office January 1, 2011. Bill has extensive experience in both federal and state government. He has served Michigan in the executive, legislative and judicial branches of government for three decades. His public service began in 1984 when he was elected to the United States House of Representatives and served on the House Budget Committee, the House Agriculture Committee and the Select Committee on Aging. In January of 1991, Bill was named Director of the Michigan Department of Agriculture. As a member of Governor John Engler's cabinet, his policy responsibilities ranged from agribusiness export development to environmental stewardship initiatives for production agriculture. While Director of Agriculture, he and his wife Cynthia created the Michigan Harvest Gathering, a food and fund drive to help feed hungry people throughout Michigan. Joining with the Food Bank Council of Michigan, the Michigan Harvest Gathering has raised more than $8.2 million and 8.5 million pounds of food and is recognized nationally for its innovative public-private partnership.
