“A Doctor’s Confession to the Amish Community”
And why, despite all, I still do what I do…
D ear Friend,
Confessions are tough. Real tough. But sometimes a
confession can set the record straight, and I want to
give credit where credit is due. Before I talk about
my confession, let me say a few other things first.
Years ago something happened to me that
changed my life forever. Let me tell you my
story…
It’s a parent’s worst nightmare! To be
awakened from a deep sleep by the screeching
of your child gasping for air. Well, this was a
common occurrence for my parents and myself
for most of my childhood years. You see, I
suffered from severe asthma attacks on a
regular basis. The attacks would come out of
nowhere. Imagine, a little boy not being able
to play soccer with his friends, my parents
scared I would have an asthma attack. It
wasn’t uncommon for me to be rushed to the
emergency room at a 3 a.m. on any given
night. My childhood was filled with pills,
nebulizer treatments and even shots almost on
a regular basis. As a teenager my asthma
turned into severe sinus infections, once again
treated by antibiotic after antibiotic. I even
went as far as having sinus surgery. You
guessed it; even the surgery didn’t fix my sinus
problems.
But, there’s more…
I moved back to New York after school and it
was there that I FOUND HIM!! I found a
doctor who gave me my breath of fresh
air! This new doctor did an exam, took some
films, and then adjusted my spine. The
adjustment didn’t hurt, it actually felt good. I
got relief, and I could breathe freely through
my nose and lungs again. Oh did I mention
this doctor is a Chiropractor! It worked so well
for me, and I was so impressed with him, I
eventually fashion my practice after his.
Now for my family, who are pictured in the
photo, I vowed that they would never suffer
the way I suffered with pills, nebulizer
treatments, and shots. My family over the
years had only a handful of colds and one ear
infection not even treated with medication.

active and fun life.
It’s strange how life is, because now people
