Years ago something happened to me
that changed my life forever. Let me tell
you my story.
It’s a parent’s worst nightmare! To be
awakened from a deep sleep by the screeching
of your child gasping for air. Well, this was
a common occurrence for my parents and
myself for most of my childhood years. You
see, I suffered from severe asthma attacks
on a regular basis. The attacks would come
out of nowhere. Imagine, a little boy not
being able to play soccer with his friends, my
parents scared I would have an asthma attack.
It wasn’t uncommon for me to be rushed to
the emergency room at a 3 a.m. on any given
night. My childhood was filled with pills, neb-
ulizer treatments and even shots almost on a
regular basis. As a teenager my asthma turned
into severe sinus infections, once again treat-
ed by antibiotic after antibiotic. I even went
