TECHNOLOGY USED TO CONNECT CLASSROOMS

Technology is very important for education, now more than ever. What do students think about distance learning? Do they like it? What kind of tools are they using to keep in touch with their teachers and classmates? Which type of didactics do they prefer?

Nowadays, in March 2020, people can leave home only for grocery shopping. Students must stay at home for a long time, but we can have lessons and study through an application called “Google Classroom”.

I think that it is a good way to keep busy and to continue our school programme on these days of emergency.

Teachers can send audio messagges with their explications about a new topic, homework and many tips to work better.

We can also contact them with a chat if we didn’t understand something and they answer in a short time.

I like this because it isn’t different compared to the “normal” school, but I prefer traditional lessons, face-to-face with my teachers.

I usually use my phone and my computer to keep in touch with my teachers: I take a picture of my homework or I use the programme “Word” to write exercises. Then I upload everything on Google classroom.

Sometimes we have lessons in videochat to say hello and to spend some time togheter. Talking to someone in person is really better than chatting behind a screen.

I like both types of didactics, but I hope that we can come back to school the last month before leaving definitively. The exams will be very soon and maybe we will never see each other again.

Because of Coronvirus emergency, it was necessary to switch to distance learning, a very intelligent way to exploiting the technologies available today and to continue studies despite the health emergency through tablet, computer or mobile phone.

The theacers

explain, ask some questions,

correct the exercises and

make us do digital tests

to check if we are studying.

I like this method but I

certainly prefer much more

going to school and meeting

my friends and teachers

in person.
