CHAPTER
9
Semantics
DESCRIPTION REFLECTIONS
Semantics contrasts with syntax, studying the
combinatorial units of a language and pragmatic,
studying the relationships between the symbols of a
language, its meaning, and users of the language.
Semantic as a field of study also has Significant links to
various theories of meaning representation including
truth theories of meaning, theories of meaning
coherence, and meaning correspondence theories. Each
of them is related to the general philosophical study of
reality and the representation of meaning.
It is above all linguistics, and also philosophical, the
study of what it means - in language, programming
languages, formal logic and semiotics. It focuses on the
relationship between signifiers - such as words,
phrases, signs and symbols - and what they represent,
their denotation. This chapter taught me above all
to recognize describing and
specifying the forms of this
subject that of the semantic and
that is mainly the linguistic, and
also philosophical, the study of
what it means -in language,
programming languages, formal
logic And semiotics. It focuses on
the relationship between
signifiers - such as words,
phrases, signs and symbols - and
what they represent, their
denotation to the subject in
contrast.
