BENTLEY THE CONFORTABLE CAR
Bentley was known to make aeronautical radial engines during the First World War, the most famous being the Bentley BR1, which powered the Sopwith Camel airplanes. During the 1920s began the manufacture of luxury cars, characterized by high mechanical reliability (such as the Bentley 3 Liter and the Bentley 6.5 Liter Speed Six). This allowed them to shine in endurance events, claiming victory in four consecutive editions of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The Great Depression of 1929 led to the bankruptcy of Bentley in 1931, being acquired by Rolls-Royce. Since 1998 belongs to the Volkswagen group.
