MARIE CURIE
The 5th grade students have learned about the life and achievements of Marie Curie . They have created Lapbooks to present Marie Curie ’ s biography on the 8th of March “ Women ’ s day ”
The highlights include :
- She was born in Poland 1867 and died in France 1934 . - She and her husband ( Pierre Curie ) discovered two chemical elements , radium and polonium . They also developed X-rays .
- She was the first person to win two Nobel prizes . The first one was awarded to both her and her husband in 1903 , and the second one was awarded to her in 1911 .
- She became the first female professsor at the University of Paris in
1906 . - During World War I , she used her X-ray invention to save many lives . - Through her dedication and hard-working , Marie Curie acomplished her goals . Thanks to her achievements , many women followed in her footsteps and went to purse their dreams .
