The afternoon sun continued to heat the field and play. Though it didn’t seem possible, both sides amped up their play. Passing was beautiful on both sides, as was the theft as both sides managed to intercept the ball. Toward the middle of the quarter, some of the Bandit subs (having just played in the previous game) seemed to be losing steam. Shamrock’s John Lindstrom and Captain Vinny Moloney were quick to take advantage of the slightest pause and instigated an aerial attack. Again, Shamrock showed why they are at the top of the leaderboard, ending the third quarter ahead of the Bandits 2-8(14) to 3-4(13).
One more quarter, one last push to see whom would sit honorably alone at the top of the board. Despite all players having to play full games, Brocach somehow found a reserve and began their final assault. Though the Griffins managed another respectable three points, seemly securing their lead, the Bandits were not having any of it as they matched up the three points and added a goal of their own. It would turn out that the Bandits party, the night before, would be an early victory party as the final whistle blew with Brocach ahead 4-7(19) to Shamrock’s 2-7(11).
