Though the second half started with Ale House getting another quick goal, Clare never let up on the gas, nor would they for the duration of the game. Cat Caleb Hunnicutt said afterwards, “I just don’t know how to let up…” Neither apparently did the rest of the Clare side as two more goals and a whopping 10 point were sailed through the uprights including an amazing point kicked through the uprights by Ann Weber. At the end of the third, Clare had built a comfortable lead of 7-14(35) to 4-3(15).
Knowing that at any point the dangerous and hungry Ale House Marauders could make a comeback if given an opening, Clare vowed not to let that happen. The Marauder fullback line tightened up play, but the scrappy play of Clare captain Noah Leydel managed yet another goal. Marauder defenders, Sarah Eslyn and Rebecca Miksch along with Captain Tim Sulik remained quick to the ball, contesting every possession. Clare’s swarm offense simply had them out matched as two to three yellow jerseys seemed to always be pouncing on the solo white and blue of Ale House. Throughout the game, Ale House Goalie Jerry Miksch maintained consistently exception puck-outs across the midfield. Alas, the valiant effort of the Marauders was laid to rest as the final whistle blew with Clare victorious by an obscene margin of 8-22(46) to 4-3(15).
