Eventually, Madison and her siblings and 16 other family members traveled to ShenZhen and GuangZhou, visited their family’s ancestral village and discovered their documented family lineage dated back to 1006 B.C. , and met 300 of their grandfather’s Chinese descendants in a powerful family reunion.
Madison, a longtime broadcast journalist and media executive, created a documentary and, now a book, The result was “Finding Samuel Lowe – From Harlem to China” – first a documentary and, now, a book that chronicles the Williams Family’s journey.

Paula Williams Madison and her three brothers were raised by their Chinese Jamaican Mother, who encouraged them to pursue and realize American Dream of moving from rags to riches. In the process, Paula Madison also promised their mother that she would connect to her mother’s estranged father's people. The journey took them to the Toronto Hakka Chinese Conference where they connected with members of the Chinese Jamaican community and, ultimately, to their maternal grandfather’s family.
