The role of Afro-Latinos in Black
America is often overlooked in mainstream narratives . But the reality is that Afro-Latinos have been a vital part of what ’ s shaped Black life in American , from the Harlem Renaissance to contemporary social movements .
Beyond literature and politics , Afro-Latinos have also influenced fashion , film , and mainstream media , challenging traditional narratives about to component parts of Black culture in the United States .
The Harlem Renaissance was a defining moment in Black culture , and Afro-Latinos were an important part of that movement . Writers , musicians , and intellectuals from the Caribbean and Latin America infused their unique perspectives into the era .
