MG Car Club of South Australia PRESIDENTS REPORT From.. .Adrian Ward H i Members and Friends Good news to hear about "New Spot MG" opening up in Adelaide. Peter Coulson is keeping in touch with this one - watch this space ...... equals a good strong Club! Think about who you might like to nominate. Past Events - two events that will have occurred by the time you read this Magazine are the MGB Register Night at Wiltshires, and the Ferrari Nat Meet at "The Bend". I know they would have both been successful events. Regalia - keep in mind we need some- one to take care of our Regalia sales. Please talk about this position with your fellow Club members. Kimber Run - so far we have 74 en- trants, and are looking for a lot more entrant support for this prestigious Club event. Berry has devoted a lot of time and effort into organizing the Kimber Run and he deserves to be rewarded with a healthy list of entrants. It's not too late to enter your MG and be part of this annual event to recognize and pay trib- ute to Cecil Kimber and the history of the Marque. Late News - last night (Friday 11th Oc- tober) we attended the Tribute to Garry Chapman organized by Dick Manning, and had Ed Ordinski interviewing Garry on his Rallying career. Ed's preparation as per usual was "first class" as he compared his era and Garry's era in Rallying, and the contrasts were amaz- ing. Ed successfully kept the evening on a light hearted note. WOW!! consider- able work had gone into making this event such a success, with an audience nudging 70 Club Members and friends it WAS REALLY that good !! Garry was accompanied by his lovely wife Jenice and his daughter Ashlee who wore a skirt made and worn by Jenice to the Inaugural MGCC SA Meeting way back when. The slide-show along with Garry's commentary were wonderful, most entertaining and informative, 10 out of 10 Garry. Thanks to Peter Coul- son for being "production Manager". We are very lucky as a Club to have such accomplished Members in our midst. The Weekender - thank you to Barb and Wendy for their efforts in organizing this event which is now fully subscribed. Their hard work and dedication has been rewarded. We are very much look- ing forward to an enjoyable weekend, hope you are too. Christmas Function - don't forget we are limited to 100 attendees, Club Members are at no cost for the meal, and visitors are $25.00 per head. Drinks are at your own cost from the bar. The response to the menu last year was quite favorable, so it is to remain the same for this year's event. Hoping to see you soon in your MG.... Keep on MG'ing...!! AGM - it is about this time of the year that we need to start thinking about next year's Committee. The AGM is probably the most important meeting of the year, remember a good strong Committee Regards Adrian Ward President 6
