MG Car Club of South Australia
PRE-WAR & T - REGISTER
From..John Bray
Register meeting 3 May 2018
The KN knock out at West Beach,
what a cracker !
t certainly was a “knock out” meeting
at Bob & Shelly Bazzica’s despite our
first taste of inclement weather that kept
the T’s away and at home for the night,
a few made it though.
Expectations were high to see the re-
cently completed KN MG , the DB5 As-
ton Martin & the new restoration project
the TD Arnolt in the sweatshop due for
completion this year says Bob.
Lad-
brokes have it their books if you want to
put some money on meeting the dead-
line, ha ! Bob says that he can do it,
check the photos on the website.
Thankyou Bob & Shelly for your great
hospitality and generous supper cuisine,
really appreciated on a cold and wet
night. 42 signed in and 6 register cars
recorded. Doug Gordon’s Amilcar racer
was a nice welcoming sight in the drive-
way, thanks Doug.
Apologies: Messers Auld , Brice, Buck-
ley, Fairbrother, Kinnear, Willington, Ew-
art, Harris, Glasson, Wallace, Tamke ,
Greenwood and late withdrawals from
the deep south, Walker & Shipside. Ray
Finch deserves a special mention as he

disappeared into the night.
Legends: Laurie Foody renewed his
membership to the legends club, won a
bottle then left it behind, poor Bob
turned the shed out next morning after a
frantic call from Laurie to no avail. ( I
got it Foods)
Visitors : We had Andy Furman (69
MGB), Mike Woodhouse & Robert Var-
coe.
General Business : Russell Garth gave
us an update on the Register model that
we are wanting to go to in recording ve-
hicles, the Victorian MGCC looks prom-
ising.
Ian Hobbs as he usually does had his
beak in a magazine and found an article
on the recent sales of Aston Martins in
the UK which he read to the meeting ,
then put the wood on Bazzica to divulge
what he thought the DB5 was worth. I
am not at liberty to publish a figure, al-
beit to say it is a considerable sum,
made even more alluring by Bob’s con-
fession of how he screwed some poor
old pommy bastard in the 70’s to get the
car from Liverpool UK. This is akin to a
decent barn find story, however his real
