July 2018 2. Thanks Guys, what a great day at The Bend, unfortunately group 3 only had 10 competitive laps all day due to red flag inci- dents. Normal procedure would be we line up in the pits and when the track is clear we continue. Something to consider next time. Cheers Malcolm Ebel Alfa Club SA FEEDBACK RECEIVED to....Wes and Murray, 1 Peter and I got the whole NSW team back to Sydney last night after a little drive from Hay in some drizzling rain. Our round trip was about 2,600 - 2,800 kms, and one kan- garoo. I am not looking forward to washing tow car, trailer and MGC before another supersprint this coming weekend, at Wake- field park! Many thanks to you and your club for put- ting on such an enjoyable weekend at Collingrove and Tailem Bend over the long weekend, and for collating all the results very quickly. Peter did notice that the list of modified MGBs was only three at the events, but then there were four on your pointscore - was a car re-classified? Peter and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and both exciting sporting venues. You are lucky fellas to have The Bend as a new track being a world class venue. We cer- tainly enjoyed driving on some very fresh and perfect bitumen, although Peter had some fuel delivery problems which slowed his runs when the engine room was calling for more! Please pass on our sincere thanks to all your members and volunteers who helped to make this all happen, as we know from running our supersprints in NSW how much time & effort this takes. Maybe we can double our NSW contingent again next year, if we can round up a few more drivers before they all retire. Unfortunately we are progressing to being more of a social club as all get on in years! Luckily young (at heart) blokes like us are still competing, and prepared to do some highway driving to get there. In the '80s our club used to host large race meetings! We shall be writing an article for our club magazine. Best regards, from Peter Rose and Steve Perry NSW (and hope to catch up again next year) 3 G’day Murray, Just a quick note to you, and all who were involved in organising and staging the Challenge, to say thanks for a great week- end. I know you all faced some incredible obstacles along the way, and in spite of all thrown at you, you pulled off a great event. Congratulations to all of you and be very proud of a job well done! I want also to add my thanks to all who got involved in helping to rescue my weekend after suffering a rear disc failure at Collin- grove. After discovering the problem after lunch on the Saturday of a long weekend, and making a few unsuccessful calls to local MX-5’ers I knew, I resigned myself to pack- ing up and not taking part in the remaining competition. However the word spread quickly that I was in strife, and the commu- nity sprang into action., and in a relatively short while, replacements were found and I was on my way to collect my parts. I appre- ciate the efforts of all of them and can only say thankyou very much! Finally a special thanks to one individual in particular. Jason Edwards offered me the use of the Lotus so as I could continue to compete. This, in my opinion, was an ex- tremely generous offer, but one I felt I could not take up. As things turned out, my car was resurrected and Jason’s offer was not required. I must say that the generosity shown by a fellow competitor and rival in Jason, was enormously appreciated by me, and again demonstrates the community spirit of these events. For me, Jason gets the Man of the Match award!! Kim Cole Victoria MX5 3 31
