4 January 2018 Arthur Rudiger’ s West Lakes. The come and see meeting.
y call out for this meeting was“
Come and see the real thing“ sung by Russell Morris. The diligent Bob Schapel was quick to pick up on the“ Morris” as in Morris Garages, yes subtle I know but the real things were on show at King Arthur’ s at West Lakes you only had to be there to see all. Thanks to Arthur who spent a great deal of his leisure time preparing for the meeting, the place looked great, the front lawn vacuumed, the slabs of cardboard drip trays cut and prepared for the leaking TC’ s on the driveway. Apologies x 2 1. From the Tour Down Under, 10 December. J Tamke, R Schapel, T Wright, C Whyatt, L Kinnear, G & W Hough, J Davies, P Dallwitz.( apologies if I have missed someone)
2. King Arthur’ s. Mozza( visitors), Nick Proferes( Fiji), R Gibbs( wife’ s birthday), Leigh Ritcher( tired) D Fairbrother( sore back), Terry Wright( recouperating), Trevor Driver( Hobart), Pearson’ s, John Tamke( family) Don Walker, Peter Shipside. Ronnie Jellet.
Attendance. Would you believe 45 signed in to the meeting, 21 Register vehicles plus other MG’ s. consisting of 9 TC, 6 TF, 2 TD, 2 Y, 1 NA & 1 ND. TD McNabb was in a head spin over the superior numbers of TF present! Good to see Gordon Brice back after medical rebuild, Colin Whyatt the Doc after copius holiday cruises, Dick Manning( TC), Laurie Houghton( editor), Pat Mullins( MGA) & the Serial Pest( God help us!!)
General Business. Laurie Houghton, our illustrious editor was first cab off the rank and addressed the meeting. A motor sport informationmeeting will be held at the Clubrooms on February 23, 7.00pm, Mick Mitolo will provide a gourmet BBQ. Come and see the Gibb MGZT, powerful 520 hp MG. The MG Challenge with the Victorians will be held at The Bend raceway at Tailem Bend in June on the short course track. More to come on all this later in reports. Peter Auld had news, good news & bad news, but no fake news yet. Paint Supplies at Royal Park can now put your selected automotive paint into aerosol cans to suit whatever you need.( good news). Peter had a bit of trouble purchasing a crankshaft online, good news: it was an attractive price, bad news: the attractive price has evaporated and escalated up on his credit card statement. Really bad news:“ I can’ t get no satisfaction”
AC Pearson looking for 12mm number punches for his EK ute reno, Dean Hosking looking around in his garage, sounds sus Dean, changing numbers not ethical, just saying mind you.
Gordon Brice looking for a secondhand door for his TD, also supplying a rocker cover for Heather Bennett who will attempt to become world champion at the MG Nat Meeting in Tas, rocker cover challenge.
