Breakfast Run to Younghusband
26th November 2017
A
s has now become a tradition, the
last breakfast run of the year was to
Alan & Ros Foweraker's house on the
tranquil Murray at Younghusband, a
truly "Stress Reducing" location.
The day started with a hiccup for me as
my car died just as I pulled up at Veale
Gardens, it having run out of sparks.
The fault was traced to the coil and Pe-
ter Auld was kind enough to rush home
to pick up a brand new one he hap-
pened to have lying around, so problem
solvered. My sincere thanks to Peter for
his willing help, and I will now carry a
spare coil.
He and Chris had not been on a run for
some time and so let me assure them
that it is not often that we have car prob-
lems on these runs, but it is not unheard
of. Also making a return to the run was
Mike & Jan who drove their new MG6 up
from Strath.
There was the usual good turn out for
this run, the route this time going via
Murray Bridge rather than via Mannum
and the ferry crossing. A convoy of cars
being led, I might add, by the GT's!.
It was an overcast but dry day and Alan
& Ros put on a great show, even firing
up the BBQ and providing snags to all of
those that were still hanging around in
the afternoon, all of us enjoying the day
too much to even think about driving
home.
ping away as usual, but both had an
important prior engagement being Reg
O'Malley's 80th birthday. So congratula-
tions Reg.
