MG Car Club of South Australia MGA & MAGNETTE REPORT From...Sandra Cardnell W ell our last meeting for the year. We invaded Shelley and Bob Bazzica’s West Beach home and ga- rage. Such a great night bought out most of the sports cars, seven A’s, two MGB’s and a BGT together with the KN of the hosts and Peter Coulson’s Tazza, whatever that is. We also had the Hough’s Enzo, a Cooper S and a VW Polo. Pat Mullin’s excuse for not bring- ing out the A was that he had come straight from work. I have included a photo of the gleaming MGA taken at the Kimber Run. We may deviate from the Thursday meeting on a couple of occasions be- cause there may be a meeting at Mac- clesfield and one at Hindmarsh Island. These would have to be a Sunday run and we would need to bring our lunch, but more details early in the New Year. Ken Burke attended the meeting, but not in his capacity as Secretary of Reg- isters. Ken has purchased, and is re- storing, a Series 3 Magnette. It will be good to see it when finished. Because of the success of the Aldinga Coffee Run, I intend to organize a Cof- fee Run to the Mt, Lofty summit on 13 January 2019. There is the chance of warm conditions, just a short run up through Magill and back across to the summit for coffee is planned. We should be home before the hottest part of the day. NB Arthur reminded me that there is paid parking at the summit, so bring a couple of coins for the hungry machine. There was much interest in Bazz’s resto- ration project – a TD Arnolt – the only one in Australia. It is good to see the work in the early stages, we will appreci- ate the efforts of Bazz when it is finished, hopefully towards the middle of next year. The superb Aston Martin and the latest restoration project the KN also attracted interest, especially when the Aston Mar- tin bonnet was lifted and the engine started. Great sound, which is important to the enthusiast; twenty five enthusiasts on the night. So, the only thing to do now is to wish all MGA, Magnette owners and other Club Members a very happy Christmas and good driving in the New Year. We are winding down now towards Christmas, so apart from the Annual Dinner to be held at the Belair Hotel on 2 nd December, there is nothing else planned for this year. Sandra A Cardnell Next year however, we have the first Register Meeting at the Club rooms on 17 January, 2019. The main item of busi- ness will be to elect the Register Secre- tary/Co-ordinator for the coming year/ years. At that meeting we will be looking for volunteers to hold a Register meeting. 1952 TD ARNOLT, Body by Bertone 38
