Upcoming Events for MG Motorsport
T
he CAMS calendar is almost com-
plete and every effort has been
made to spread out events better. MSCA
will again run five super sprints and the
Peter Hall Memorial Six Hour with one of
the sprints at The Bend in June. This
round will require more flaggies than a
Mallala sprint so a call will be made for
more officials.
The following are a few early events for
2019 to mark in your diary now.
Sunday 24 February –
MSCA Presentation Picnic
This will be held at the Virgara Winery in
Angle Vale with the usual format of a
BYO picnic lunch, club display and pres-
entations of the 2018 championship
awards. More details to come in the new
year.
Sunday 17 March – MSCA Super
Sprint Round 1, Mallala
The first round of the super sprint series
will include a Come & Try component so
consider giving this opportunity to some-
one for Christmas. It’s a great program
with classroom tuition and on track train-
ing to develop skills and learn about
sprinting.
MGCC is on duty to provide flaggies for
round one.
Sunday 24 March – State Motorkhana
Championship Round 1
Round one of the State Motorkhana
championship will be run by MGCCSA
so we will be calling for helpers. As yet
the venue is to be decided but it may
well be Mallala skidpan again.

June Long Weekend –
MG Club Challenge
It is Victoria’s turn to host the Challenge
in 2019 and they are considering a two
day event at Bryant Park in Moe, Victo-
ria over the long weekend, 7 th to 9 th
June. Bryant Park is a new Hillclimb
facility built in 2008 with six different
Hillclimb configurations. The format is
yet to be decided but it should be a
great weekend with little driving be-
tween events and a variety of tracks
over the weekend. Mark it in the diary
now and consider coming to play.
Thanks to all the competitors, officials
and supporters during the 2018 season.
It has been a busy year including the
regular sprints, hillclimbs and motorkha-
nas and the Challenge at Collingrove
and The Bend.
Enjoy the Christmas and New Year
break and take the opportunity to get
the cars ready for 2019.
Merry Christmas.

Round 5 of MSCA Super Sprint held
at Mallala MotorSport Park,
28 Oct 2018
This was the last round for the year.
Mallala at this time of year can be cool
in the morning and warming up in the
afternoon. We were greeted by the
smell of freshly cooked bacon and
eggs, cooked and prepared by ‘chef’
Jamie Manning. It sure makes early
starts easier with some food in the belly!
A good turn out of cars and members
including Martin Ball, a new member
competing in his Rover SD1.
