Register meeting 1 March 2018 The Rush to Murray Bridge Goldfield.
he rush was certainly on from those assembled at Crafers Park N Ride to Brian & Kath Golding’ s digs at Murray Bridge again this year. We were blessed with perfect weather and received a“ blessing“ at the start from the sari clad Hari Krishna’ s who took an avid interest in the cars and Russell Garth especially. He really wanted a seat in the TF Russ, pity you could have been the first Uber TF in Adelaide, but then again the sari would have got messed up in the handbrake, he looked a bit suss Russ! It really was a great start, some“ slower” cars flagged off early but were never overtaken driven to the max in true MG spirit, one never made it for reasons that will be explained later. Thanks again to Brian & Kath again this year, it has become an annual pilgrimage and we appreciate the hospitality sincerely. At long last the
22 sunset met Goldy’ s expectations that was just as well as he has been promising us for the last two years that it would be good. 42 + signed in, 13 T register cars. Apologies. There were a few, Doc Whyatt, Kenny Fisher, Peter Wallace, Geoff Glasson, John Tamke, Stan Sheppard, Robin Gibbs, Forthy, Joy & David Pearson, Ronnie Jellet( unwell) Chris & Heather Bennett, Bob & Shelly Bazzica & two notables Peter Cundy & David TD Mc Nabb. It is worth noting that the last two had interesting excuses. Peter Cundy was in the jungles of Sri Lanka looking for 1930’ s MG Parts, pity the Japanese never left any behind in 1942. McNabb of course in keeping with the Gold Rush night, was luxuriating in Gold Class at Marion Cinema’ s, Kerry having corralled him on a Register night to the movies, well that is his chances gone in the Irving Cup this year for sure. Chris & Heather Bennett busy preparing the caravan for towing by the TF to Tasmania, Nat Meet.
