Tour packs and Phil Hoffmann Travel wallets.. Friday 20 th we left home early, but to our surprise on arriving at Yankalilla, there were 6 MGs already parked in front of the famed Yankalilla Bakery, where we shared a coffee with a hearty group. Upon our arrival at Cape Jervis car park, Wendy Sauer had some early birds signed on as others continued to arrive in time to board the Sealink Ferry by 11.30 for a 12 noon departure. With all 24 MGs on board together with SUVs, caravans and trucks we set off for the smooth 45 minute crossing to Penneshaw. The club was greeted by K. I. residents & MG Club members Ian & Raelene Purdey at the Tourist Info Centre with tips on what to do and where to go in our free time. The 60 km undulating drive to Kingscote is very picturesque.. a great first impression. Sat 21 st. After a generous tasty cooked breakfast we assembled in a nearby car park at 8.30 am for a 9.00 am start for the 300 km roundtrip to Flinders Chase Nat. Park with a choice of 2 route options i. e.. clockwise or anti clockwise. The entire drive was on first class bitumen roads. MGs were everywhere visiting Seal Bay, Remarkable Rocks and Admirals

arch, Parndana, Stokes Bay and other v a r i o u s p l a c e s o f i n t e r e s t. The free Bar-B-Q lunch at Flinders Chase picnic area sponsored by the Purdeys Seashells Penneshaw Accomm was a roaring success. Saturday night the South Sea Island theme dinner at the Ozone Hotel Function Room was sensational with creative colourful attire and a noisy happy atmosphere. First prize for the best costume was awarded to Bronwyn Micklem and the most Creative prize awarded to Derek Laynes( again). The raffle prizes were cheered along with much yelling and shouting by the Micklem mob. All in all a fabulous night out for the 50 people in attendance. Sunday 22 nd. A display of MGs from 10 am to 11 am in the main Street of Kingscote( the Street was closed to traffic) as locals came out for a look and a chat to the owners. The majority reluctantly returned on the 4.30 pm Ferry back to Cape Jervis, but many extended their stay to visit the many places of interest. The big bonus was.. NO BREAK DOWNS.
