MGF TECH NIGHT

Two events took place on Friday night
the 14th July at the Clubrooms,
1, Murray Stephenson presented the
awards for the 2016 year as follows..
There were fourteen eligible events for
the year and Tim competed at all four-
teen which helped towards him being
2016 Motorsport Champion.
Non Marque was the biggest class with
eight competitors.

Dick explained some of the steps to ac-
cess various parts from the car, like the
timing belt, how to fill the oil, the opera-
tion of the Hydrolastic? Suspension and
one of the spring type replacement op-
tions, the operation of the ABS system,
the inclusion of the water level sensor
system and where the wiring is routed,
the location of the EPAS power steering
ecu and the location of the petrol tank
which not many people were aware of.
Dick also “haywired” a seat belt pre-
tensioner, the SRS passenger and driv-
ers airbags and set them off for all to
see how quickly they deploy and the
noise associated with their deployment.

the supper and berry Treffers for open-
ing up the club early to put the heater
on .
Dick supplied and raffled a brand new
coffee machine to offset the cost of the
supper.
Dick has two similar MGFs he is cur-
rently wrecking with most parts available
