it looked terrific. Certainly, the several
locals who turned up appreciated the
great display we put on.
The Robe Weekender was universally
agreed as a great occasion, with lots
of time to mix with fellow MG nuts and
some interesting places to visit along
the way and around the Robe and
Beachport areas.
I enjoyed setting it all up and I’d really
like to thank Lynda, Andrew and Debbie Pointon and Maurice Linehan and
Stephanie McCarthy for their invaluable help.

fers as he partly disrobed. Another
great night and perhaps, the odd Panadol when people got back to their
rooms. Just speculating ;-)
Sunday was again cool but this time
the sun was beginning to win the battle with the clouds as we all set off for
Karratta Wines, an easy 16 km south.
There we were given tours of the
vineyard and the winery followed by a
light lunch by the Robe Bakery. Well
light it might have been but there was
plenty of it. A significant threat to
waistlines.
At just before 3pm all cars assembled
by Lake Fellmongery close
to Robe and then set off
for Robe in a convoy behind the Robe CFS with
rad an d blue lights a’flashing. At the Robe foreshore
the council permitted us to
assemble on the grass
under MG banners set up
in advance by Col Chapman, Roger Dawe and
Rod Byrne. Thanks guys,
